The Gardens of Ron Herman
Grayson Publishing, 2012
Fourteen gardens by the renowned West Coast landscape architect and educator Ron Herman (1941-2018) show his long, slow mastery of horticulture and the intuition he brings to laconic spatial arrangements, influenced by his early and long immersion in the garden arts of Japan. My role was to visit and write essays on the individual projects. The book opens with an intimate introduction by his longtime colleague and collaborator Marc Treib.
